About Me

Steven Spielberg once said “Every time I go to a movie, it’s magic, no matter what the movies about.” I have seen this magic since the time I had begun watching movies as a child. These “magic’s” have ultimately led me in perusing a career in the media studies field and create my own inspirations.

As a media studies student at Loras College, I have been able to further my interest in media studies in ways I never thought possible. Freshman year of college, I was able to be a part of Loras College Television, where I learned important skills for reporting, shooting, and editing segments for a weekly television newscast. During my first semester of sophomore year I had the privilege to intern with KCRG TV-9 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Interning at a news station helped me bring back tough lessons and skills to Loras College Television, where I was named Anchor and Associate producer of our school’s news program. During my sophomore year, I was also awarded an Iowa College News Association award for placing second in best online original content, as well as receiving the Grant Price Scholarship for 2011.

Heading into my junior year of college, I have been nominated for a Student award of Excellence in Photography by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Upper-Midwest. I am also taking on my first year as Producer for Loras College Television and second year in anchoring of Loras College television news, I hope to continue learning from others around me, as well as share everything I have learned.

I look forward to my future in media studies, and cannot wait to have an impact in the field of broadcasting.
